Al Baddad to supply 80pc of Hajj tents
UAE-based Al Baddad International said it will be supplying close to 160,000 sq ft of tents, comprising more than 80 percent of the total needed for Haj gathering, this year.

This is the tenth consecutive year that the UAE company has been supplying tents for Hajj pilgrimage.

A team of 50 technicians and engineers are supervising the laying of tents at Makkah and ensuring that the highest standards of safety and security are met, said a senior offical.

“The annual pilgrimage of Hajj is at the top of our list of priorities, due to its religious significance as the fifth pillar of Islam,” remarked Zayed Al Baddad, the chairman of Al Baddad International.

Choosing Al Baddad to handle a project of this magnitude is testament to the quality products the company provides and the high-standards it upholds, said the top official.

According to him, the company has a large portfolio of significant projects in partnership with various international and regional organizations, from private to government institutions, including the United Nations which requires tents for refugee camps around the world.

Moreover, Al Baddad's scope of supply includes providing tents for military camps locally and internationally as well as private and commercial functions and events.

"We have been successfully growing our market share in the segment over the past decade. After supplying 30 per cent of total tents required for Hajj in 2003, Al Baddad's contribution has risen to 80 per cent in 2013," he added.

A unit of UAE-based Al Baddad Holding, the company is one of the largest in supplying tents and prefab buildings globally, said the top official.

The company has 8 million sq m inventory of tents and prefab buildings, ready for immediate dispatch and assembly at its headquarters in Techno Park Dubai. It also has an annual production capacity for 6 million sq m, he added.
